About Broom Tackle Box

Partners John and Carole are Lancastrians. Both are anglers and have over seventy years experience between them. Since moving up to SW Scotland in 1994 they have built the Broom fishery in a measured way with conservation and the surrounding area in mind.

New shop at Broom
The Broom Tackle Box shop

A shop has been on site for some time due to local and visitor demand. As the fishery has grown (now standing at five trout lochs and a coarse loch) the need for a larger shop has become apparent. Therefore a new shop has been built and is now open. This new shop is complemented by the Broom Tackle Box online shop.

A full range of game, sea and coarse fishing tackle and accessories is stocked. Quality items supplied by quality manufacturers. All products are either used by the partners, tested by them at Broom Fisheries or on an angling holiday.

Come and 'try before you buy'

Why not visit Broom Fisheries, and take the opportunity to 'try before you buy'? John is usually on hand to give advice and guidance before, during and after any purchase and a qualified instructor is available. Broom Tackle Box is based at Newbie, Annan, just ten miles from the M74 at the Scottish/English Border. It is convenient for Carlisle, northern England and southern Scotland. Relax in the Fisheries' lodge area and enjoy coffee and a chat.

The Solway Firth area is now firmly on the map for game and coarse fishing, providing great sport for anglers. At Broom Fisheries, there are two well-stocked lochs for fly fishing, with top quality trout - rainbows, browns, golden, blues, tigers and brook. Coarse fishing is becoming more and more popular in Scotland, and we have stocked several waters with tench, perch, roach, gudgeon, ide, bream, barbel, f1, koi, mirror and common carp. There are 100 coarse pegs and many clubs from all over the country hold competitions here. Tuition in Coarse and fly fishing is available.
